I recently received my first ever Degustabox and I was so surprised by: #1 the number of items that came in my box and #2 the usefulness of every item! When I opened my Degustabox I actually made a comment that it seems as though June’s box was created for me!
Wise Choice Cinnabon Poprcorn and Sea Salt Popcorn
R and I really wanted an at-home movie night so we bought Deadpool on Blu-ray and gathered up our Degustabox goodies. Our obvious first choice was the bags of Wise Choice Cinnabon Poprcorn and Sea Salt Popcorn. In general I crave salty foods over sweets so I naturally went straight for the Seal Salt Popcorn and it is really delicious; I can’t believe the entire snack size bag is only 70 calories! The Cinnabon Popcorn was perfect for my huge sweet toothed husband and that snack size bag is only 80 calories. I would definitely consider buying this popcorn for snacks, especially to bring to work with me!
Then we went for the Haribo Sour Gold Bears. Full disclosure: I have an obsession with gummy bears and we purchased a 3 lb bag of the Original Haribo Gold Bears at the store the same day that our Degustabox was delivered). I am not into sour candies at all so I knew off the bat that I wasn’t going to be a fan of the Haribo Sour Gold Bears and unfortunately I was right. I thought maybe something would be different because the base is the same as the Original Haribo Gold Bears but no, I couldn’t get over the SUPER sour flavor.
I LOVE sparkling water, like really really really love it. Go figure I got really excited when I saw two Topo Chico Sparkling Mineral Waters included in my Degustabox! The clear bottle is unflavored and was my favorite of the two.
The green bottle is lime flavored sparkling mineral water. I am not huge on lime flavored anything so I wasn’t that into this water but R really liked it! Both bottles of water were extremely refreshing especially during this hot Houston summer!
It can always be difficult to find a snack that is easy to eat and won’t get my keyboard gross while I am writing. These Orchard Valley Harvest Trail Mix and Cashews are a great snack for all intents and purposes! I will say that I am not a fan of almonds at all but when they are mixed into trail mixes I can deal.
And please find 5 people who don’t like cashews. Impossible because they are delicious!
Can someone please explain to me how on earth every summer I catch a summer cold? It seems impossible considering how hot it gets in Houston! These Honees Honey Menthol Cough Drops came in at the perfect time. I always stuff about 10 cough drops in my purse when I start feeling that itchy feeling in the back of my throat; so I love that these Honees Honey Menthol Cough Drops come individually wrapped in sealed wrappers. Typical cough drops unravel in my purse and leave a sticky residue, now I don’t have to worry about any of that mess!
I’ll admit that I haven’t drank a full glass of milk in years. Sure, I put it in my coffee and I cook with it often but that is about as far as it goes. So when I saw Elmhurst Harvest Chocolate Real Milk-Alternatives in my Degustabox I gave it a stink eye and slowly placed it back in the box hoping it might magically disappear… but it didn’t and the time came for me to try it.
I decided that the milk would probably pair well with some yummy warm chocolate chip cookies (if nothing else I could shoot the milk and chase it with the cookies!). I assume that I had reservations because this milk is actually almond milk which I have never tried. I am so happy to say that I was completely wrong! The milk is light unlike traditional heavy chocolate milk. I would definitely buy this in the far future for our children but I can’t see myself buying it in the near future but only because milk isn’t typically in my diet.
Want something else that pairs well with the Elmhurst Harvest Chocolate Real Milk-Alternatives? Try this new JIF Cinnamon Peanut Butter Spread on some toast for breakfast or even spread it over your apple for a mid day snack. What I love the MOST about this spread is that it has 7 grams of protein per a 2 tablespoon serving! Which is AWESOME for dieting to help keep you full until your next meal!
I chuckled when I found these Vita Coco Coconut Oil samples in our Degustabox because R and I have the full size jar in our pantry! When heated coconut oil turns liquid and provides additional scrumptious coconut flavors to our Fried Coconut Shrimp (recipe coming soon!). Coconut oil is high in natural saturated fats which helps raise your body’s good cholesterol and lower the bad.
I have been making this Italian Supergrain Garden Pagodas Pasta Salad for years but I have always had to add extra seasonings because it was missing something. After using Briannas Italian Vinaigrette on my pasta salad I no longer have to add ANY seasoning! Y’all, this dressing is really delicious and I will definitely continue buying it in stores!
Stir Fry has always been a little tricky for me to prefect, which seems odd because it is such an easy dish. I always add too much Peanut Oil and not enough Soy Sauce, it never even crossed my mind to use Teriyaki Sauce in place of any other sauce (blonde moment, I know!). I first marinated our chicken in the Soy Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki Marinade and Sauce but when the chicken was cooking and it smelt so good I decided to pour the Teriyaki Sauce over all of our veggies while they were steaming. BEST. IDEA. EVER! During dinner R called the Stir Fry (recipe coming soon!) “restaurant quality” and rated it as one of his top 10 favorite dishes that I have cooked him EVER. We will definitely be putting this dish on our dinner rotation!
